Brussel & Brussel, 1966, Hardcover (Original Cloth), Book Condition: Very Good Condition, Dust Jacket Condition: Good, First Edition
CLERGUE, LUCIEN. Toros Muertos, New York: Brussel & Brussel, 1966. Square quarto, American edition of a book that was published earlier in France and Germany, unpaginated, red cloth boards with black lettering stamped into spine and front, largely halftone photos with text mostly in English. Clergue, a collaborator of Picasso's, here captures the pain and anguish of a blood sport's losers. Although this was not intended to be anti-bullfighting, it looks that way to modern eyes. Condition of this book: Dust jacket is chipped at edges, some leaves over-opened. This is the first USA edition. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
