A thorough treatment of the 20th-century photographer's career, including the famous "Yaacou Agam" collage, and also photos that establish Newman as more than just a brilliant celebrity photographer. Robert Hirsch, in his photo history "Seizing the Light": Newman's favorite procedure was to bring his studio to his subjects, integrating their personalities with their surroundings, thereby affirming the subject's position, occupation and status to an audience unfamiliar with the subject." Condition of this book: Boards slightly bowing forward, jacket has a chip, a short tear and other minor wear. Leaves clean and tight but at this writing smell of humid storage (will likely dissipate with dry storage), images fine. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
