Bulfinch, 1996, Hardcover (Original Cloth), Book Condition: Near Fine Condition, Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine, First Edition
RITTS, HERB. Work, Boston: Bulfinch, 1996. Folio, first edition, unpaginated, blind-stamped black cloth boards, 248 duotones, 10 fold-out plates, essays by Steven Meisel and Ingrid Sischy. The catalog for the big Museum of Fine Arts show in Boston, this is the most extensive collection of Ritts prints available. A book this size and weight often suffers from various spinal problems (shakes, slants, cracks, pulling backstrips etc.) but the present copy is straight and true. I would call it fine if not for some minor marks and scuffs on the bright white dust jacket. As is, it is near fine and if there is room for only one Ritts work in your library, this is the one to have. Size: Large Folio (bigger than A3). unpaginated. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
