Ron Loewinsohn was born in the Philippines in 1937 and has lived in the United States since 1945, mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area. He now lives in Berkeley, where he teaches at the University of California (American Lit.). 'The Leaves' is part of a new collection of poems he's now working on, called 'Goat Dances'.
